The Pattonsburg R-2 Board of Education voted to purchase a bus for next school year during their regular meeting held Wednesday, June 21.

The resignation of Kim Johnson as technology coordinator was accepted. Larry Henggler was hired as technology coordinator.

The board amended last school year’s budget and summary transfers and adopted next school year’s budget. The board set the 2006-2007 salary schedule.

A school auction of old school material will be held on July 18.

Tuition rate for non-resident students was set at $3,100.

Items on the agenda approved by the board were: sick leave policy for teachers; technology policy; core data report; student handbook; and the parent involvement plan.

Mrs. Rucker, elementary principal, reported an enrollment of 83 in K-6 for May and an attendance rate of 95% for April and 94% for May. There are 102 students enrolled in summer school.

Finance safety and community education program reports were reviewed and approved.

Humphreys, Farrington and McLain were hired for legal services for 06-07.

The board entered into executive session. Upon returning to open session, the board waived a student retention policy as requested by a parent, with stipulations.

Next meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 19.

Board members present at the June 21 meeting were Craig Lambert, Patty Hartley, Gene Thatcher, Lincoln Cornett, Diane Hulett and Cyndy Estep. Also present was Melanie Rucker, Tammy DeJong and Wendell Burns.
