The North Daviess R-3 Board of Education voted to rescind the resignation of Dan Weese, high school math teacher, upon returning from executive session to their regular meeting on Monday, June 12. A contract was offered to Natisha Berry for first and second grade teacher. The resignation of Linda Sarver was accepted with a 2% penalty. A motion to offer a contract to Aimee Kokesh for ½ time preschool and ½ time Title 1 teacher carried 4-2.

The North Daviess R-3 School Board held their regular meeting on Monday, June 12, at the elementary school library in Coffey. Board members present were David Iddings, Chris Nelson (arrived at 7:23), Jason Lewis, Debbie Ray, P.J. Burnett, Beverly Hunter (arrived at 7:15), Superintendent Todd Willhite, Julie Kirby, Kristi Critten and Becky Morris.

The financial statement was presented by Mr. Willhite. Bills were paid as presented.

During old business the 2005-2006 budget was amended to actual expenses and revenues, and was adopted as presented.

The 2006-2007 budget was adopted as presented.

Mr. Willhite discussed the work being done in each building this summer.

The following program evaluations were heard during new business: Federal Programs, prepared by Julie Kirby, federal programs director; Health Services, prepared by Todd Willhite; and Non-Certified Personnel, prepared by Todd Willhite.

Bids were solicited for milk, diesel fuel, pest control, fire extinguisher inspection, bread and waste removal.

Core Data Assurances were accepted.

Ms. Critten reported on honor roll field trip to Royals game; FFA speaking contest and FFA car wash. Ms. Kirby reported on academic improvement in math and Jameson alumni donation. Mr. Willhite reported on tuition, funding and payroll items.

Extra duty assignments were tabled and will be discussed at a later date.

The board entered into executive session.

A letter by Claire Holecko was presented to the board. No action was taken.

Next meeting was set for 7 p.m. on Monday, July 17, at the high school conference room in Jameson.
