The Garrison-Polk family reunion will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, at the Dockery Park Shelter House in Gallatin. Lunch will be served at noon. All family and friends are invited.
Taul Reunion
The descendants of Levi and Benjamin Taul met at Crowder State Park the weekend of June 9-11, 2006. Camping, food, games and contests were enjoyed by all.
Lana Howard of Wray, Colo., won the Taul crazy quilt. The oldest of 85-years-young was Vern Taul of Trenton. Lola Mae Bowker of Sterling, Colo., traveled the farthest. Betty Taul of Trenton had the most descendants present with 13. The baby contest was won by Sydney Massey of Kearney. Libby Fewins of Jamesport was the youngest girl present. John Smith of Colorado was the youngest boy present. Dessert contest was won by Susie Taul of Baldwin, Kan., and Jessie Couchman of Rushville. Best Taul laugh was won by Nadine Watts of Gallatin. The "forced to attend awards" went to Donald Taul of Jameson and Serena Howard of Yuma, Colo. The longest married couple, 56 years, was won by Dorothy and Harold Adams of Buffalo. Libby Fewins, Jamesport, Carter Stephens, Liberty, and Melanie Smith of Yuma, Colo., won the Taul mixer awards. Makayla Hudson of Browning won first place in the hula hoop and jump rope contests. She also won the relay races along with her partners, Dixie Grimes’ grandson, Xaivery, and Serena Howard of Yuma, who also won the bubble gum blowing contest. Gretchen Stephens and Dorothy Taul hosted this year’s reunion. The next Taul reunion will be hosted by Roger and Carol Sue Taul of Baldwin, Kan., on June 14, 2008.
