An Iowa man received moderate injuries in a one vehicle accident at the 62 mile marker on I-35 in Daviess County, according to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred at about 10:50 p.m.(?) On Friday, June 9, as Francis Mapugilo, 28, Des Moines, Iowa, was northbound on I-35 and traveled into the passing lane, overcorrected, traveled off the east side of the roadway and overturned. The vehicle came to rest partially in the roadway.
Mr. Mapugilo, who was wearing his seat belt, was taken to Cameron Regional by the Daviess County Ambulance.
The 1998 Honda was totaled and towed by Bridgeman Towing of Altamont.
The accident was investigated by Cpl. P.M. Kimball, assisted by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department.
No summons issued.
A Coffey woman received moderate injuries in a two-vehicle accident in Daviess County at about 1:55 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16.
The accident occurred as Mira Huffman, 33, Coffey, was northbound on County Road 146 about two miles west of Pattonsburg and James Bray, 61, Pattonsburg, was southbound on the same road. The vehicles met on a curve and hit head-on. It was undetermined which vehicle was crossing the line.
Mrs. Huffman was transported by NTA Ambulance to Harrison County. It is unknown if she was wearing her seat belt.
The accident was investigated by Cpl. R.A. Sherman and assisted by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department.
No summons.
