Gallatin First Baptist

The morning message by Bro. Spencer was "Why Jesus is So Important to Me," from John 19:23-37. David Michael brought the message in song. Sunday evening was Church-in-Conference. Remember all evening services begin at 7 during summer months.

Our one day Vacation Bible School adventure is this Saturday, June 17, from 9-4. All children entering kindergarten this fall through this year’s sixth graders are invited to attend. There will be a nursery for workers’ children only. The special collection "adoption offering" for the Hansons will be taken on Sunday morning, Father’s Day, June 18.

Pattonsburg UMC Charge

Pastor Ron Carlson’s sermon was based on Isaiah 6:1-8, Romans 8:12-17 and John 3:1-17. At Pattonsburg Methodist Church Sunday a farewell carry-in dinner at noon will be held for Pastor Ron and his family due to his leaving to return to Iowa conference appointments. Both church’s and other friends are invited. Remember in prayer Homer McDaniel, Betty Cameron and Frances Lowery.

Pattonsburg First Baptist

Sunday School attendance was 29. Bro. Tanner’s message was from Romans 12:9-21. Doughnuts, coffee and juice will be served before Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. in honor of Father’s Day. July 2 the church will be having an Independence Day/God Bless America picnic following morning worship service.

Olive Baptist

Bro. David’s Sunday morning message was "The Task Ahead of Us is Never as Great as the Power Behind Us," from Isaiah 8:17 and Psalms 43-44. Sarah Ishmael’s children’s message was "Fighting Fear," from Acts 9:13-14. Bro. Ramsey’s Sunday evening Bible study was "Jesus Knew…Why Did He…?" from Luke 19.

Please note the time change for our V.B.S. We will meet July 10-14 from 6-8:15 each evening. A drawing for prizes will be held each night.

Altamont United Methodist

Children’s time was about "The Trinity, the Union of Father, Son and Holy Ghost." Pastor Marilyn illustrated how the skin flesh and the seeds represent the apple. Deloris Read gave a testimony and sang "What a Glorious Day That Will Be." Pastor’s message was "Getting It."

Gospel reading, "Nicodemus Needs New Birth," was from John 3:1-19. The 50th wedding anniversary of Don and Velma Talbott is June 17. Prayer needs were for the family of Kelly Vanatta, Clara Macrander, Mary Brockman and Will Anthuis.

Gallatin Presbyterian

Rev. Nordvall’s message was "The Helper" based on John 14:15-27. Chris Diaz read scripture and Rev. Nordvall gave the children’s sermon. Prayer concerns are for Roy Worrell, Eula Osborn, Mildred Litton, Georgia Owins, Isabelle Glaser and Pat Jefferson. Mildred Litton and Debbie Jenkins were hosts for the fellowship hour.

Jameson First Baptist

Bro. Nathan Kottwily’s morning message was "Trust God and Get in the Boat," from Mark 4:35-41. Special music was "Just a Closer Walk with Thee" by Elaine and Linda Bohannon. June 14 is Flag Day; June 18 is Father’s Day; June 26-30 is youth camp at Grand Oaks. July 17-21 is V.B.S.

Payer needs: Robert Bartlett, Patrick McBroom, Pauline Watson, Emily Bayless, Mary Louise Hackett, Frank and Shirley Smith, Don Larsen and Barbara Landes. Sympathy is extended to the family of Bea Reager.

Gallatin United Methodist

Phil Tate, lay leader, was liturgist. Scriptures were Mark 12:28-31 and I Corinthians 13. We welcomed Bob Handcastle from Manchester, Missouri as our guest speaker. He spoke on "God’s Way of Loving." The church administrative board will meet at 7:30 p.m. on June 14.

The 9 a.m. Christian Life Worship Service continued the video sermon series by Andy Stanley entitled "Take it to the Limit". The lesson focused on morality.

The men are serving Monday night at the Lake Viking Kids Kamp. On Thursday night lady volunteers are asked to meet at the Lake Viking Club House from 7-8 p.m. to help with Kamp. Tuesday is the UMW day trip to the Barnard House in St. Joe. June 21 at 6:30 p.m. is the UMW ladies salad supper.

VBS will be held June 28, 29, 30. Cookie contributions are needed. Anyone wanting to help by volunteering or by providing treats should talk to Shonna Morrison. Contact Linda Houghton if you can help deliver Meals on Wheels in July.

Prayer concerns are for the family of Kelly Vanatta, Steve McKinsey, Patrick McBroom, Shirley Wood, Ray Willis, Lori Cummings Neal, Clara Macrander, Helen and Edgar Muller.

Winston First Baptist

"For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord’s glory as the waters the covers the sea," from Habakkuk 2:14. Welcome and announcements, birthdays and anniversaries were by Jim Norton. Grace Slinkard had the opening prayer. Rev. Green did the prayer list and Ann Uthe did the intercession. Scripture reading was Matthew 24:36-44, "In times Like These," part two.

Wednesday is choir practice at 6, and at 7 is Bible study and prayer meeting. The study is on Revelations. July 17-22 is our V.B.S. from 6-9 p.m. Youth camp is June 28-30 and children’s camp is July 31 through Aug. 4 at Grand Oaks. Family mission trip is July 22-28 and youth mission trip is July 22-29. There are several on the prayer list.

Pattonsburg Christian

Scripture reading was from I Timothy 4:1-16. Dr. Ben Awbrey’s message was from Matthew 24:15-28, "The Tribulation." Remember in prayer Natalie Kaufman, Judy Vyrostek, Homer McDaniel, Wilma Ross, Barbara Rutter, Lori Neal, Patrick McBroom, Betty Cameron, Emily Brown, Vivian Bowman, David Michael, Avonda Hamilton and Beverly Lang, Sympathy is extended to the Carolyn Meek family. Ladies, let Daphna know by June 17 if you plan to attend the Gallatin CWF salad supper June 20 at 6 p.m.

Alta Vista Baptist

The greeter was L L Uthe. Ushers were Derek King and Eric Eiken. Attendance was 36. Sunday School opened with "If You’re Happy and You Know It."

Prayer concerns this week are for Larry Pittsenbarger, Randy Frazier, Walter Ramsey, Dusty Myers, Sue Pittsenbarger, Patty Akers, Wilma Dean, Arlean Wells, Cody Frazier , William Irminger, Jim Carr, Lewis Defries, Frances Mazzucca, Donnie Pennington, Twila Hunsicker, Beverly Lang, Junior Reed, Howard Trullinger, Arvilla Lubow and military personnel and families.

Scripture was from Luke 16. Brother Bob’s message was entitled "One Minute After Death."

Bible Study has been suspended until further notice. The regular monthly business meeting was held immediately following worship service. Donations are being accepted for VBS. VBS date has been set for July 16-20. Everyone is welcome to worship with us.

Gallatin First Assembly of God

Opening scripture was from Psalm 24. Praise reports were from Rita Terry and Pearl Hager. Prayer requests were for Nelda Carlson’s sister-in-law, and her sister, Gloria Lint’s sister-in -law. Brother Lint’s message was from Timothy II. The title of his message was "The Day Is Near!" After our morning service we had our May and June birthdays and anniversary dinner. Mona Roberts preached Sunday evening on "Spiritual Impartation."

Seventh-day Adventist

Our Bible Study Hour was about "The Restorer," with memory text in Phillipians 1:6. We had a video presentation by Richard Stenbakken for the church service sermon hour. His topic was "The Man of Big Mistakes — Peter." Prayer requests: Pastor Mohr, Cindy Davis family, Lila Weissenback family, Arthur and Cody Wieand, and Alice Jestis.
