Memorial services for Kelly Vanatta will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 10, at Lafayette County C-1 High School auditorium in Higginsville. Viewing is from 4 to 7 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Kaiser-Wiegers Funeral Home, Higginsville. Condolences may be emailed to: [email protected]. Kelly Vanatta, 31, Higginsville, formerly of Gallatin, died Sunday, June 4, 2006.

Mr. Vanatta was born in Chillicothe on May 9, 1975, the son of Roger and Dixanna (Bliss) Vanatta. He was a graduate of Gallatin High School.

Mr. Vanatta was a first grade teacher at Grandview elementary school in Higginsville.

He was a member of the National Education Association.

On Oct. 25, 2003, he married Kristy Maddern. She survives of the home.

Mr. Vanatta was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Irene Vanatta.

Other survivors include his parents, Roger and Dixanna; two brothers, Clint Vanatta of Gallatin; and Corey Endicott of Hamilton; grandparents Norman and Janice Bliss, Randolph, Iowa.
