Gallatin Presbyterian
Rev. Nordvall’s sermon was "Something More," based on Acts 1:1-8 and Acts 8:14-24. Tony Moore read the scripture. The children’s message was by Rev. Nordvall, relating to the sermon. Prayer requests are for Georgia Owings, Roy Worrell, Isabele Glaser, the family of Bea Reager, and the family of Kelly Vanatta.
Alta Vista Baptist
Attendance was 42. Prayer concerns this week are for the Holly Scott, Larry Pittsenbarger, Randy Frazier, Walter Ramsey, Dusty Myers, Sue Pittsenbarger, Patty Akers, Wilma Dean, Arlean Wells, Cody Frazier, William Irminger, Jim Carr, Lewis Defries, Frances Mazzucca, and Donnie Pennington. Scripture reading was from II Corinthians 2:14-17. Brother Bob’s message was entitled "What Do You Smell Like?"
The fellowship/graduation dinner to honor our graduates was held immediately following worship service. Derek King was our only graduate this year. He graduated from Winston as co-valedictorian of his class and plans to attend the University of Missouri-Rolla this fall. Donations are being accepted for VBS which is set for July 16-20. Everyone is welcome to worship with us.
Seventh-day Adventist
The study was "Life Through the Holy Spirit"with the memory text in John 6:63. Our speaker this week was Keith Friesen. His topic of discussion was "The Inward Law." Scripture reading was Jeremiah 31:33. Special music was presented by the Friesen family.
Next week our speaker will be Elder Bill Reed. Continued prayers are asked for Pastor ad Mrs. Mohr and others. This week is our conference wide camp meeting at Sunnydale Academy.
Gallatin First Assembly of God
Thought for the week: Unless you can create the whole universe in five days, then perhaps giving advice to God isn’t such a good idea! Prayer reports were for Melvin Turner, Zoe Smith, Claire Macrander, Jim and Pearl Hager and Lita Terry. Brother Lint’s message was from Psalm 51:1-12,"Spiritual Renewal Is Yours."
Next Sunday we will have the puppets back with us, and right after service we will have our church fellowship dinner. July 17 will be the start of our VBS. We will be holding a special meeting soon. Everyone that is planning on helping with VBS needs to be at this meeting, we will be sharing some important details.
Pattonsburg First Baptist
Sunday School attendance was 40. Bro. Tanner’s message was from Romans 12:3-8. Leaders Patsy Holcomb and Rhonda Lambert recognized TeamKids for their attendance and efforts for the past year. Those present were Liam Mooney, Molly Thatcher, Garrett Hartley and Geoffrey Hartley. Other members are Kelly and Courtney Warford. Special music during morning worship was "Jesus Paid it All" by Bro. Matt. Youth camp will be June 26-30. Forms are due by June 12. Children’s camp will be July 30-Aug. 4 and forms are due July 17. Adults are needed for cabin leaders.

Jameson First Baptist
Rev. Paul Willard’s morning message as "Look Unto the Lord," from Isaiah 45:22-24. Special music was "Were You There?" by Elaine Bohannon. V.B.S. is July 17-21. Youth and children’s camp forms are available.
Prayer needs: Patrick McBroom, Pauline Watson, Don Larsen, Mary Louise Hackett, Frank and Shirley Smith and Barbara Landes. Sympathy is extended to the family of Bea Reager and the family of Kelly Vanatta.
Altamont United Methodist
"God’s Ten Most Wanted Men" was presented by Francie Toney. Bible study was "Standing Up for What is Right," from Daniel 3:14-25. We appreciate the bird houses decorated by Elliott, Renee and Rosa Keifer for our new kitchen.
Pastor Marilyn and our church congregation will present church services at Lake Viking Health Care Sunday afternoon. U.M.W. will meet at the home of Don and Velma Talbott’s on Tuesday afternoon, June 13.
Prayer concerns were for Nina Allen, Bertie Stith, Mary Brackman, Marlene Allen, Laura and Barb Youtsey (traveling) and Kathy (friend of Liz Duffy).
Fairview Community
John Stith, Pauline Bridgman and Betty McFee led prayers. John read from Psalms 119:137-144. Sunday School concluded at Colossians 4:18. Bro. Davis’ message was "Examine Yourself," from Psalms 26. Special prayer requests are for Beverly Lang and Zack Moore. Wednesday night prayer meeting is at 7 p.m.

Pastor Russ Hamilton gave the message "Christ’s Advocate," based on Psalm 104:24-30 and John 16:1-15. Rhonda Parker gave the children’s message for the first service and Louise Taylor gave the children’s message for the second service.

Gallatin United Methodist
The Christian Life Worship service at 9 a.m. continued with part four of Andy Stanley’s video sermon series "Take it to the Limit." Rev. Richard Parker in the 11 a.m. church service talked with the children about being happy, the presence of God and coming together.
Scripture lessons were Acts 2:1-4 and John 15:26-27 and 16:4-15. Rev. Parker’s sermon topic was "A New Presence." Holy Communion was shared by the congregation. June 13, all are invited to join the UMW in a day trip to the Barnard House for a historical home tour and lunch. They will depart from the church at 9:30 a.m. June 21 is the UMW ladies salad supper at 6:30 p.m.
V.B.S. will beheld June 28-29-30. Cookie contributions and helpers are needed.
Prayer concerns are for Shirley Wood, Jill McGinnis Gooding, Patrick McBroom, Clara Macrander, the family of Mary Sue Hamilton, the family of Kelly Vanatta, the family of Bea Reager and Katie Jeffers and her family in the loss of her grandmother. Joys are for Aubrey Burns.
Olive Baptist
Bro. David’s Sunday morning message was "Slow to Judge, Quick to Forgive, and Ever Increasing in Love," from Matthew 7:1-13. Sarah Ishmael’s children’s message was "The Man From Ethiopia," from Acts 8:31. Our children’s bell choir performed a selection for special music. Our monthly business meeting was held after morning worship. V.B.S. will be held from 6:30-8 July 10-14, each evening.
Winston First Baptist
I delight in your command, Psalms 119:47. Terry Caldwell is the deacon in training. Special music was by the choir, "In Times Like These." Bro. Green’s message was "In Times Like These," II Timothy 3:1-18 and 12-13.
Wednesday night is our church choir practice at 6 and at 7 is our June business meeting. Youth camp is June 26-30. Children’s camp is July 31-Aug. 4. Both camps are at Grand Oaks in Chillicothe.
Gallatin First Baptist
In the absence of our pastor, Dr. Terry Wilder, from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Kansas City, was our guest speaker. His morning message was "What it Means to be a Disciple," from Mark 8:27-10:45 and the evening message was from I John 4. After evening worship, cake and ice cream was served in celebration of the June birthdays.
Preparations are being made this week for our "One-Day All-Day Adventure" in V.B.S., this Saturday, June 17, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. The school is for children entering kindergarten this fall through the sixth grade. There will be a nursery for children of the worker’s only.
Take note of the time change to 7 p.m. for all evening services during the summer months. Plan to be present for church-in-conference this Sunday evening. Some important issues are to be voted on. Summer Haiti mission trip is planned for July 21-Aug. 4. Shelly Sims and Myrlene Heldenbrand are going.
Pattonsburg Christian
Scripture reading was from Jude 14:25. Dr. Ben Awbrey’s sermon was from Matthew 24: 9-14. Remember in prayer Carolyn Meek, Judy Vyrostek, Homer McDaniel, Wilma Roth, Barbara Rutter, Lori Neal, Patrick McBroom, Betty Cameron, Emily Brown, Kieten Pedrino and Vivian Bowman.
