Graveside services and burial for Effie Gates was held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday), at the Pilot Grove No. 1 Cemetery, northwest of Jamesport. Arrangements were by the Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pilot Grove No. 1 Cemetery, in care of the funeral home.

Effie W. Gates, 94, Jamesport, died Saturday, May 27, 2006.
Mrs. Gates married Daniel G. Gates on Dec. 25, 1936. He preceded her in death on Aug. 2, 2003.
Survivors include three sons, George Gates, Bethany, Richard Gates, Naples, Fla., and James Gates, Jamesport; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
