Winston, Missouri- Della Caldwell, 92, Winston, Missouri passed away on the 19th of May 2006 at Cameron Regional Medical Center.
Della was born on April 18, 1914 in Devon, Kansas to Warren and Floretta (Major) Van Dyke.
She was an active member of the First Baptist Church, Winston and a charter member of the Winston Historical Society.
She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and playing bingo in Gallatin where everyone loved her and she considered them all good friends.
Della worked in the past at the cap factory and shoe factory, where she made many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Virgil (Jay) Caldwell, daughter, Mary Rose, son, Billy Warren and great-granddaughter, Tearcyn Lewis.
She was the last survivor of 16 brothers and sisters.
Survivors: 12 children, 6 daughters, Helen Norton, Winston, Evelyn Plymell, St. Joseph, Janice Michael, Winston, Linda Moore, Gallatin, Marilyn Clark, Winston, Sherri Slaughter, Gallatin; 6 sons, Jim Caldwell, Winston, Gene Caldwell, Gallatin, Larry Caldwell, Breckenridge, Gary Caldwell, Winston, Ted Caldwell, Winston, Bob Caldwell, Cameron; 42 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
She never met a stranger, she loved everyone and everyone loved her.
Services were held Monday, May 22, 2006 at First Baptist Church, Winston, Mo. Visitation had been held on Sunday evening, May 21, 2006 at Stroup-Thompson Funeral Home, Winston. Burial was in the Winston Cemetery. Donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, Winston and/or Winston Historical Society.
