Tim Tadlock began as Gallatin’s new State Farm Insurance agent last week. Mr. Tadlock said he will be competing for new business by offering diversity and personal service.
“We’re going forward aggressively,” said Mr. Tadlock. “We’ll be offering all types of IRAs and various types of retirement plans for business owners. I know my way around, and we have terrific products in that area.”
Hours will be expanded to 5:30 p.m. every week night and 9-12 noon on Saturday.
“Working families may make appointments during the evening,” said Mr. Tadlock. “And I do make house calls. If they need me to come to them, I’ll be happy to do that.”
The size of the staff has doubled. Mr. Tadlock’s wife Tiffany works in the office, along with Elaine Gastineau, in customer service. Corey Endicott will help with marketing and sales.
Three of the four staff members are fully licensed in all lines of insurance. Tiffany is studying and will soon be licensed also.
Mr. Tadlock grew up on a farm between King City and Stanberry. When he was around 10-years-old his parents divorced. His father stayed on the farm and Tim went to live with his mother in Maryville, where he attended high school. He graduated from college at Northwest Missouri State University receiving a BS degree in 1991 and a degree in business administration in 1993.
Mr. Tadlock worked as a financial consultant for AG Edwards for 10 years in Liberty.
“I’m a Wall Street guy,” he said. He started a branch office for AG Edwards in Maryville and built the business from 1996 to 2001. After receiving a promotion in 2001 he returned to Liberty and has been in that city the last five years.
He was hired with State Farm in September of last year and has been in training. He’s been an official agent of the company for about two weeks.
“I know about annuities and the stock market,” he said. “I’ve been learning about autos and homes.”
The agency office, located on the square at 115 North Main, has been completely remodeled. Local labor and suppliers were hired do the carpet laying, painting and window work. The building also sports a new canopy.
Mr. Tadlock and his wife, Tiffany, who is from Maryville, have a three-year-old daughter, Johnna.
“The pace around here is a little slower,” said Mr. Tadlock. “There’s no rush hour traffic. I can hear the coyotes at night instead of sirens and tires screeching like I did in the city.”
Mr. Taclock said he and his family have enjoyed everywhere they’ve been.
“So far we’re crazy about Gallatin,” he said. “We’re thrilled to be here.”
The State Farm Insurance Agency is located on the east side of the square in Gallatin. Call 663-2831 to talk to Tim about your insurance needs.
“Anyone who wants to shop around should come in and see us,” he said.
