The 68th Annual Meeting of Farmers’ Electric Cooperative will be held Tuesday, June 6, at the Gary Dickinson Performing Arts Center in Chillicothe.
Registration for the meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. Board President Ron Cornett will call FEC’s Annual Meeting to order at 7 o’clock. Three directors will be elected at the annual meeting. The cooperative’s Committee on Nominations met April 11, nominating Cornett, Pattonsburg, District 1; Warren Hoyt, Dawn, District 4; and Richard Anderson, Carrollton, District 5. The 2007 Committee on Nominations will also be elected at the June 7 meeting.
The business meeting will also include presentations by retiring FEC Executive Vice-President/CEO Dan Bryan, incoming CEO Mike Sanders and FEC attorney Lloyd Cleaveland.
"This year’s annual meeting marks the retirement of our CEO, Dan Bryan," noted Cornett. "It will also mark a new era, in that, our members will get the opportunity to meet our new Chief Executive Officer Mike Sanders."
Members who register will receive a bucket of light bulbs, a $10 gift certificate good for the Fuel Expresso convenience store in Chillicothe, and other items. Prior to the business meeting there will be 1,000 Dairy Queen ice cream sandwiches provided to the cooperative’s member/owners. At the conclusion of the annual meeting, a 52-inch big screen television, plus well over 100 other prizes will be given away.
Members who attend the June 6 meeting will also have an opportunity to check out the booths and displays, which are located in the commons area of the performing arts center. Information will be available on FEC’s rebate programs, Touchstone Energy, Dairy Queen, Fuel Expresso, Culligan Water Systems and Dish Network.
A concession stand will be in operation just off the high school commons area, which is located to the north of the Dickinson Center. Sandwiches, chips, pies and soft drinks will be available there.
Once the business meeting begins, the Chillicothe FCCLA Chapter will provide a Kids Fun Zone for the younger members of the cooperative.
