Jack M. Zaneis, 91, Versailles, died Sunday, April 30 at his home.

Mr. Zaneis was born April 21, 1915, at Fort Dodge, Iowa, son of Harley and Gertrude Crinklaw Zaneis. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Abe Whitt.

He married Doris V. Page. She died on Nov. 21, 1978. He married Evleyn Morrison on Oct. 21, 2000.

Mr. Zaneis managed several M.F.A. exchanges, including one in Gallatin. He was later superintendent of grounds at Hickman High School and Rock Bridge School in Columbia. He was also a Ford automobile salesman in Columbia for several years.

Mr. Zaneis was a member of Mt. Nebo Church.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Neil, Howard and Bobby Zaneis.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Zaneis, of the home; one son, Dean M. Zaneis of Lady Lake, Fla.; one daughter, Dianne Zaneis of McHenry, Ill.; three stepsons, Buster Morrison, Larry Morrison and Punky Morrison, all of Versailles; four grandchildren; six step grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.
