Gallatin R-5 music students participated in State Music Contest in Columbia April 27-28. Results are as follows: Instrumental Music: Kara Kloepping, French horn solo, 1; Whitney Ray, alto-saxophone solo, 1; Justin Moody, tuba solo, 1; Logan Corwin, euphonium solo, 2; Jonathan Arnold, clarinet solo, 1; Phillip Arnold, trombone solo, 2; Lacy Edwards, bassoon solo, 2; clarinet quartet of Jamie Brinnen, Kathryn Everly, Jonathan Arnold and Amy Anthuis, 2; piano solo, Jonathan Arnold, 1; piano solo, Phillip Arnold, 2.
Vocal Music: Michelle Turley, solo, 2; Trio of Michelle Turley, Kara Kloepping and Kelsha Bundy, 2; Kelsha Bundy, solo, 2; Melissa Craig, solo, 2; large ensemble of Kara Kloepping, Michelle Turley, Kelsha Bundy, Julieann Turley, Lacy Edwards, Melissa Craig, Lacy Peery and Marquis Wheeler, 2.
Band Spring Concert will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, at the high school gym. Choir Spring Program will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, at the Courter Theater in Gallatin. Music Awards Banquet will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 11.
