To send five delegates to the nationals in Nashville

Members of the Gallatin FBLA Chapter recently attended the 2006 Missouri FBLA Leadership Conference held on April 23, 24, and 25 in Columbia, Missouri.
FBLA is a career and technical student organization for all high school students participating in business programs. Over 2,500 members and advisors representing 398 chapters throughout the state met to elect state officers, transact business of the state chapter, participate in leadership and career workshops, and compete in the state leadership awards program.
Delegates representing the Gallatin Chapter in the state competitive leadership awards program were: Katy Black, Tye Humphrey, Wren Tolen, Alisa Wilson, Kathryn Everly, Jessica Fifer, Emily Michener, Samantha Mott, Alyssa Strein, Brett Wilkinson, Jonathan Arnold, Philip Arnold, Katie Patton, Hattie Rains, Katie Jarboe, Whitney Boyd, and Kaddie Mott.
Winning recognition at the state conference were: Hattie Rains-1st place Public Speaking II; Whitney Boyd-1st place Accounting I; Katie Jarboe & Alisa Wilson-7th place Emerging Business Issues; Kaddie Mott-7th place FBLA Principles & Procedures; Jessica Fifer-8th place Impromptu Speaking; Wren Tolen-9th place Intro to Parliamentary Procedure; Philip Arnold-1st place Intro to Parliamentary Procedure; Katy Black-8th place Word Processing I; Katie Patton & Jonathan Arnold-Parliamentary State Team; Gallatin Parliamentary Procedure Team-1st place JR Chaney Award of Parliamentary Procedure. Samantha Mott, Alyssa Strein, and Brett Wilkinson also won 12th place for the Local Chapter Annual Business Report. In addition, Jonathan Arnold was elected to serve as Missouri State Chapter Parliamentarian for the 2006-2007 school year. Kinsey Batson, Sydney Elbert, and Taylor Porter attended as voting delegates for the Gallatin chapter. Barb Holcomb is the local chapter adviser and accompanied the students to the conference.
Five delegates from the Gallatin Chapter will attend the National Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, June 29-July 2: Whitney Boyd, Jonathan Arnold, Philip Arnold, Hattie Rains, and Katie Patton.
