The Daviess/Caldwell County Extension Office is responsible for the delivery of extension programs for both Daviess and Caldwell Counties.
Current programming efforts statewide focus on agricultural profitability and viability, building family and individual strengths, building human resources, business, community and economic development, enhancing health and nutrition, environmental quality and stewardship and youth development.
This office offers a variety of resources for the local citizens. In the past year a Master Gardener’s program was started with members from Daviess, Caldwell, and Buchannan counties. The group is currently helping to landscape the Daviess County Library.
Extension also offers soil and hay sample testing. Local agriculture producers can renew or train for their private Pesticide Applicator’s License at the office.
One of the most popular programs in Daviess and Caldwell Counties is the Missouri 4-H Program.
We also have direct access to 21 regional specialists with expertise in everything from agriculture and business development to nutrition and youth development.
Kathy May, a native of Jamesport, is the office manager. Becky Simpson is the 4-H Youth Development
The county outreach and extension council, comprised of elected and appointed citizens, is a full partner with Missouri’s land-grant universities to deliver high-quality education and research-based information that helps people solve real-world problems and take advantage of opportunities.
