“It’s Time to Get Water Wise,” is the theme for the 2006 Soil and Water Stewardship Week. Join Daviess County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) in celebrating Stewardship Week April 30 to May 7.
Water is a resource that each of us depends on. Daviess County SWCD works with agricultural landowners and the public to conserve Missouri’s soil and water resources.
Missouri’s soil and water conservation districts have helped reduce erosion rates by more than half in the past 20 years, improving water quality and keeping fields productive.
The Soil and Water Stewardship Week program is sponsored by the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD). You can learn more about Stewardship Week at
www.stewardshipweek.com.
Missouri’s 114 soil and water conservation districts are funded by the one-tenth-of-one-percent parks and soils sales tax. The district works with agricultural landowners and the public to conserve the state’s oil and water resources. NACD represents the nation’s 3,000 conservation districts, which were established to encourage resource conservation across the country.
