Area awards night
Members of the Pattonsburg FFA Chapter traveled to Chillicothe on April 13 for awards night. The FFA Knowledge team was recognized for their 5th place finish at district FFA contest. Members of that team include Mariah Wood, Caroline Hulet, Tiffany deJong, and Becca Bowland. Mariah Wood also received a silver for her participation in the FFA Creed Contest.
Katelyn Hulet was awarded a gold for her FFA Secretary’s Book and Kate Hangley received a gold with her FFA Scrapbook. Whitney Mason, Katelyn Hulet, and Andrew Hulet were awarded their Area FFA Degrees.
Convention success
Members of the Pattonsburg FFA Chapter attended78th Annual Missouri State FFA Convention which was held April 20-21 in Columbia.
Katelyn Hulet, Whitney Mason, and Andrew Hulet garnered the state’s highest award, the State FFA Degree.
Awarding of the degree is based upon a member’s supervised agricultural experience program in agribusiness or production agriculture, and leadership ability as demonstrated through involvement in FFA, school and community activities.
Aleah Sperry, Justin Nalle, Rhyse Curtis, and Jeremiah Nitzschke participated in the Entomology CDE, and received a group II rating at state competition. Nitzschke was placed as 16th in the state and received a group I rating.
The chapter was awarded a Gold Emblem Plaque and was placed as one of the top 53 chapters in the state.
Kate Hangley was also recognized for her acceptance to the prestigious Missouri Agribusiness Academy.
The FFA Knowledge Team of Becca Bowland, Mariah Wood, Caroline Hulet, and Tiffany deJong competed in the state contest and received a group III rating.
Jordan Talbert, Paige Canaday, Travis Lowrey, Clay Bell, Kortlyn Talbert, and Matt Woodring participated in the FFA Courtesy Corps and assisted proctors with speaking contest.
Alyssa Lambert, Kate Hangley, JJ Allee, and Kristina Breeden assisted state staff with back stage work as part of the stage crew and were recognized on stage during the last session.
