On March 11, the USS Theodore Roosevelt CVN-71 moored into Naval Station Norfolk. The ship returned home from a six month deployment in support of Maritime security operations and the global war on terrorism.

On board the ship was AOAN (AW) Nickolas L. Wayne. He was greeted by his wife Becky Wayne and parents, Jim and Cheri Wayne, and his sister, Lindi Wayne, who joined the Naval reserves in November.

The USS Theodore Roosevelt CVN-71 went to Spain, Italy, Greece, Egypt, and spent a lot of time in the Persian Gulf. Nickolas was invited to go with his commanding officer to Iraq and so made a helicopter trip into Iraq. He also entertained the troops for the holidays in Dubayy.
