Terry Williams of Onyx Waste Services in Bethany discussed the rates for a spring cleanup with the Pattonsburg Board of Aldermen during their regular meeting held April 11. The board voted to hold the cleanup on May 1 and May 8.
Election results were read and approved. Leonard Bar, Lonnie Luke and Gene Walker were sworn in for their terms.
Dana Cameron was appointed and sworn in as city clerk.
The board accepted the survey from Shafer Kline and Warren with correction of the space for the possibility of a lift station.
The board entered into executive session to discuss real estate issues.
The council tabled the matter for summer employment until the next meeting.
The board agreed to move $1,000 out of the movie account into the park account.
The council discussed fertilizing the city’s hay ground with the hog farm’s services. The board motioned that at this time they are not interested.
Dwight Schell requested a renewal of his liquor license at KJ’S Two Stop. He then removed himself as the board discussed the issue. The board motioned to hold for a 30 day comment period.
Summer Ball League would like to purchase a lock box for the cook shack and wondered if the city would object. The board motioned for the league to look into it and see if one can be found that can be padlocked.
The council asks that anyone who wishes to give their input on the location and placement of the trees for the park to please contact city hall.
An individual inquired about the cooling towers in the old town. The board motioned to take $500 for them if the buyer removes them himself.
Eddy Meador gave the council an update on ongoing work. He said the work on Well #6 has been completed and asked to start work on Well #5. The board motioned for him to go ahead.
City hall has received several citizen complaints about the dogs in town. The council would like to remind the owners of the dogs that it is their responsibility to abide by the city’s dog ordinance #6586.
Lanny Searcy put in his resignation from the IDA Board effective April 1, 2006. The board accepted his resignation and stated that a replacement is needed. All parties interested in a position on the IDA board, should please contact city hall.
