Brian Jefferson, Troop 513, was recently installed as an Eagle Scout.
Brian is the son of Denney and Bobbie Jefferson of Warrensburg and the grandson of L.D. Sr. and Pat Jefferson of Gallatin.
Brain’s trail to Eagle began with Cub Scout Pack 404. He earned all 20 badges available for Cub Scouts. In February, 2002, Brian crossed over into Boy Scouts and became a member of Troop 513.
Brian is a freshman at Warrensburg High School and his hobbies include wrestling, golf, hunting and trap shooting. He also is an active member of Grover Park Baptist Church, where he is an assistant Sunday School teacher for preschoolers, a member of the church’s Youth Council and a member of the church’s “Parable Player” drama team.
Brian’s Eagle project consisted of painting and re-coding the fire hydrants and cleaning a courtyard area adjacent to the obstetric ward at Western Missouri Medical Center. The fire hydrants at the hospital were improperly color coded and needed to be changed for the benefit of the local fire department in the event of a fire. The courtyard area was cleared for a future low maintenance rock garden that would enhance the view for patients, as well as make it safe for emergency egress.
Brian intends to continue in scouting as long as possible, as well as further his education at either a technical or four-year college. He hopes some day to become a scoutmaster and help other boys achieve the goal of becoming an Eagle Scout.
