James Lewis, bridge supervisor, met with the commission requesting that a "BEAP" study be conducted on a bridge in Jefferson Township. Harrington & Cortelyou engineers were contacted. Also, they are continuing tube replacement and repairing bridges.

The commission reported having gone to the Western Court of Appeal in Kansas City on March 29 for arguments in the Maxwell vs. County Commission hearing. A decision will be made in 30-90 days. On March 30, the Commission attended the Northwest County Commissioner’s Association meeting in Buchanan County. On March 31, David Tolen chaired the Daviess-DeKalb County Regional Jail meeting in Pattonsburg.

At 10 a.m. as advertised, bids for the 1979 Freightliner were opened. The commission unanimously accepted the bid of $1,000 from Cliff King.

At 11 a.m., as advertised, bids for mowing the courtyard were opened. Only one bid was received. The commissioners unanimously accepted the bid of Jerry Harris at $70 per mowing.

Bills were audited and paid.

Marshall Jones, Bill Slusher and Pat Garrett, Norris Aggregates, met with the commission regarding the recent CART bids.

Julia Filley, prosecuting attorney, met with the commission regarding 109th Street in Colfax Township.
