Constance "Connie" Thomas, 71, passed Sunday, April 9, 2006 at her home in Gallatin. Services were held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church, Gallatin. Visitation was Tuesday evening at the McWilliams Funeral Home. Interment was in Lyle Cemetery, Gallatin. Memorials may be made to the Daviess County Library.

Connie was born on Dec. 22, 1934, to Harley and Cynthia (Hill) Pierce in Kansas City. She graduated from Kansas City Central High School in 1952. She enrolled in the University of Missouri in Kansas City, later attended Paramedic School in St. Joseph, where she became a licensed EMT and paramedic. On Oct. 20, 1962, she was united in marriage to John Thomas in Gallatin. She and John worked for the Community Ambulance District in Gallatin for more than fourteen years as paramedics.

Connie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gallatin. She was also a member of the "Red Hatters"club. Her home was always open to friends and neighbors and coffee was always on. She enjoyed spending time with her friends throughout the community and with her family whom she loved dearly. She will be missed by her family and the community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Jim Pierce, of Gallatin.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, John, of Gallatin; two sons, Mike Thomas and his wife Donna, of Maysville and Chris Thomas and his wife Debbie, of Richmond, Va.; a daughter, Lori Kloepping and husband Eric, of Gallatin. There are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
