Funeral services for were held Saturday at Meierhoffer Funeral Home and Crematory, St. Joseph. Interment was at Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph. The family suggests memorial gifts to the St. Joseph School District Foundation.

Virginia K. (Richardson) Tedlock, 89, St. Joseph, died Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at a local nursing home facility.

She was born April 11, 1916, near Alanthus Grove. She briefly attended college at Northwest Missouri State Teacher’s College, Maryville, prior to WWII.

She worked at the Lunch Box in Maryville and later worked in the Westport area of Kansas City at the Bank of Westport.

She married Randall W. Tedlock on April 21, 1946, in Stanberry.

She accompanied her husband, a teacher and school administrator, throughout his career. At each community, Virginia worked as a bookkeeper or clerk in a variety of businesses.

Mrs. Tedlock resided in Pattonsburg, Martinsville, Jamesport, Grant City, Trenton, Jefferson City, Waynesville-Fort Leonard Wood, Louisiana, Montgomery City and St. Joseph. She and her husband retired to live in St. Joseph in July of 1979. She worked part-time at JC Penney in St. Joseph until 1984.

Mrs. Tedlock was a member of Wyatt Park Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred O. Richardson and Blanche (Grantham) Richardson; her husband, Randall W. Tedlock; and a sister, Lorene (Richardson) Harkrider.

Mrs. Tedlock was an active member in the various Baptist churches she attended during her lifetime.

Survivors include one son, Kevin D. Tedlock of St. Joseph; one sister, Frances Beedle, Gladstone; two grandchildren; and one step-grandchild.
