Funeral services for Sylvia Vyrostek were held today (Wednesday) at St. Charles Memorial Gardens, St. Charles. Interment was at St. Charles Memorial Gardens. Sylvia G. Vyrostek, 87, Osage Beach, formerly of St. Charles County, died April 1, 2006, at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach.
Mrs. Vyrostek was born on April 5, 1918, in Daviess County.
She was an aircraft machinist with McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis, retiring in 1987.
Mrs. Vyrostek was a member of District #837 Machinists.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph S. Vyrostek; her parents, Clyde and Sophrona Oak; a son, Steve E. Oak; and a brother C.W. Oak.
Survivors include two daughters, Julia Carter of Sweet Springs and Darla Caffrey of St. Charles; two sons, Wayne of Ft. Smith, Ark. and Michael of Lake Ozark; one sister, Pauline Clark, Fulton, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
