A Maysville woman was injured in a two vehicle accident at about 1:35 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, in DeKalb County about three miles east of Maysville, according to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred as Cheryl Steiner, 34, Maysville, was driving a 1998 Chevrolet Suburban westbound on Hwy. 6 and Christian Cornett, 23, Pattonsburg, was driving a 1997 Ford Van southbound on Hedge Road crossing Hwy. 6. Mrs. Steiner swerved to miss, but still struck the Cornett vehicle in the driver’s side.
The Steiner vehicle came to rest facing southbound in a private drive and the Cornett vehicle crossed through a fence and came to rest facing southbound in a field.
Mrs. Steiner was transported by DeKalb County Ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
Mrs. Cornett’s Ford Van received extensive damage and was driven from the scene. Mrs. Steiner’s Chevrolet Suburban was totaled and towed by Talen Tow.
The accident was investigated by Tpr. T. I. Goolsby, assisted by Tpr. A.K. Griffin and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department.
Summons to Mrs. Cornett for failure to yield.
