Daviess County Commission Report
James Lewis, bridge supervisor, reported that they are replacing a 36" metal pipe in Marion Township.
Bills were audited and paid.
Lincoln Township contacted the commission requesting assistance in the purchase of maintenance equipment for their township roads. Following the established policy, they will be awarded a grant when their financial statement is on file.
The commission discussed the federally mandated drug-testing program. The commission, by contacting the company administering the program, determined that the county’s employees are not safety sensitive, therefore are not required to be DOT certified.
Becky Sims, Extension Council, reported on the status of the addition to the staff.
Notice was received from the engineering firm that the deficiencies on BRO project (24) have been corrected. Following an inspection of the site, the commission accepted the engineer’s recommendation to accept the project.
The commission inspected brush problems in Benton Township.
