David Michael, Jamesport Township, met with the commission reporting an erosion problem near his residence. Mr. Lewis will inspect and make repairs. James Lewis, bridge supervisor, reported that they are continuing tube replacement around the county. At 10 a.m., as advertised, the commission reviewed the bids for cabinetry for the sheriff’s office. Bids were received from McCartney Cabinets, North Kansas City, and Lightning Bolt Cabinets, Amity. Danny Heldenbrand moved to accept the bid from Lightning Bolt as the lowest and best bid. The motion was approved unanimously. Kevin Heldenbrand, sheriff, met with the commission regarding personnel matters. The meeting was closed for the discussion by unanimous approval. In open session, the commission met with Harry Roberts, insurance broker, and Ron Bowling, Colonial Life Insurance, regarding the section 125 plan for the county. The county will contract with Secure Benefits Systems for administration of the plan. At 1:30 p.m. as advertised, the commission reviewed bids for corrugated metal pipe. Bids were from metal Culverts Inc. and Contech Construction Inc. David Holcomb moved to accept the bid from Metal Culverts. The motion was approved unanimously. At 2:30 p.m. as advertised, the commissioners reviewed the bids for CART rock. Bids were received from Norris Aggregates, Trager Quarries and Apac Quarries. The matter was taken under advisement.
