Tommie Lowery expressed interest in leasing the old light and power plant building and land in Old Pattonsburg during the regular meeting of the Pattonsburg Board of Aldermen held Wednesday, March 8, at city hall.

The board moved to lease land to him for 25 years with Mr. Lowery or his heirs or select representatives having the chance of first refusal to renew. The board also voted to lease the power plant and any adjacent land the city still owns to Mr. Lowrey for the time of 50 years as long as it is agriculture related.

The city will get its attorney to draw up the two agreements, one for the building and one for the land.

The council reviewed and voted to accept an appraisal from Tom Everly in St. Joseph for the clinic in Old Pattonsburg. His estimated value was $12,000.

Bills were paid as presented.

It was mentioned to the council that Marcie Bailey would like to lease the cook shack for the 2006 year. The board moved to require a $250 deposit due at signing and if a dumpster is wanted it is up to the leaser to pay for that service.

The board entered closed session to discuss employee reviews.

Those in attendance were Mayor Mark Smith, Dwight Schell, Gene Walker, Ed Meador, Angie Jones, Dana Cameron, Lonnie Luke and Tommie Lowery.
