Funeral services for Charlotte Dall were held Saturday at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Burial was at Ashland Cemetery, St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to the Daviess County Library.

Charlotte M. Dall, 88, Gallatin, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, at the Lake Viking Health Care Center in Gallatin.

Mrs. Dall was born Dec. 30, 1917, to Charles and Julliette (Montigue) Lockard in Brooklyn, N.Y. She graduated from high school in New York.

She was united in marriage to Edward R. Dall on June 30, 1945, in Brooklyn. He died in 1999.

The Dalls moved to Delaware where she was employed with Bell Labs. The couple moved to Hopewell Junction, N.Y., where she worked out of her home as well as holding part-time secretarial jobs. In 1957, they moved to Phoenix, Ariz. In 1972, they moved to Cornville, Ariz., and in 1992, to Gallatin to be near their daughter.

Mrs. Dall as a member of the United Methodist Church in Gallatin and belonged to the Loyalty Circle. She was also a member of the Moose Lodge of Cornville, Ariz., and a senior regent with the Women of the Moose. Mrs. Dall received recognition of extreme heroism in 1956, displayed during the rescue of a small child who was drowning. She was also named Mother of the Year.

Mrs. Dall was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Craig Dall, and brother, James Lockard.

Survivors are her daughter, Valerie Davis of Gallatin; sons, James of Sun City, Ariz., Edward Dall of Deepwater, and Arthur Schell of Henderson, Nev.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
