James D. Souders was charged Feb. 22 with three felony counts of burglary 2nd degree and three felony counts of theft/stealing in connection with the burglaries of three rural Daviess County residences from Dec. 25, 2005 to Jan. 1, 2006. It is believed that Souders accompanied his brother, Richard Dewayne Farmer, who was arrested earlier this month for the same burglaries. Souders was also subleasing with Farmer in the residence where the stolen items were found. The total value of items taken in the three burglaries exceeds $18,000.
Traffic Fines
The following are traffic cases which were heard in the Associate Division of the Circuit Court of Daviess County involving a plea of guilty without contest and payment by mail of the standard fine plus court costs. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside outside of Missouri are $863.87 for 14 tickets. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside in Missouri was $962 for 16 cases. Court costs collected for the State of Missouri amount to $56.50 for moving traffic violations. Missouri defendants, offenses and fines are listed below:
Child 4-16 with no seat belt: Dustin R. Teel, Gallatin, $10.
Speeding: Mary J. Holt, Harris, $58.50; Anthony C. McCallon, Kansas City, $88.50; Dawn M. Estes, Kidder, $28.50; Wesley E. Hodges, Jamesport, $88.50; Stacy N. Peak, Excelsior Springs, $88.50; Jeffrey L. Johnson Jr., St. Louis, $58.50.
Speeding amended by prosecuting attorney to failure to equip vehicle with adequate muffler: Jessica L. Schneider, Pattonsburg, $143.50.
No insurance: Richard Puffer, Gallatin, $103.50.
No seat belt: Darrell L. Harris, Gilman City, $10; Chase P. Stamp, St. Joseph, $10.
Gilbert Parker, Gallatin, was fined $103.50 on each of two counts of no insurance, $28.50 on each of two counts of failure to register vehicle with Department of Revenue, and $10 for no seat belt.
Civil Court
Asset Acceptance LLC, plaintiff, vs. Manuel L. Garcia, defendant: Default judgment entered for the plaintiff in the amount of $1,091.34 plus court costs and interest.
Small Claims
Farmers Bank of Northern Missouri NA was the plaintiff and was awarded a judgment in cases with the following defendants: Craig A. Heckenbach, $382.59; Karen S. Juarez, $379.52; Scott and Jessica Malott, $229.59; Vincent A. Sterner and Janis Faye Creamer-Criss, $311.40; Glen E. and Jonna A. Riley, $342.19.
Sharon K. Berten vs. Kenneth Minor: Judgment was entered for the plaintiff for $1,490.
