Funeral services for Mary Pettegrew will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the Resthaven Mortuary at Trenton. General visitation will begin after 8:30 today (Wednesday) at the mortuary. A scheduled family visitation will be from 7-8 Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens at Trenton. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be given to the First Baptist Church.

Mary E. Pettegrew, 84, Trenton, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2006, at the Heartland Hospital in St. Joseph, where she had been a patient for the past two weeks.
Mrs. Pettegrew was born on Nov. 7, 1921, at Gallatin, the daughter of H. Roy and Kathryn Stout Galpin. She graduated from Central High School in Kansas City.
On Feb. 11, 1940, she was married to Rex Pettegrew at Trenton. He preceded her in death in June 1990. After their marriage they lived in Trenton before moving to Excelsior Springs. They returned to Trenton in 1969.
Mrs. Pettegrew was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church at Trenton.
Survivors include four sons, Rex E. Pettegrew of Leesville, S.C., Michael Pettegrew of Northville, Mich., Mark Pettegrew of St. Joseph, and Patric Pettegrew of Aurora; three sisters, Geraldine Brown of Santa Clarita, Calif., Nancy Kirk of Palm Bay, Fla., and Joan Galpin of Kansas City, Kan.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
