Congratulations to Jamie Brinnen for placing first at the state level in the Missouri State High School Activities Association 2005-2006 Sportsmanship Essay contest. Jamie will be recognized this summer at a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game. 3-8

A Gallatin resident needs a childcare worker, age 16 or older, for after school and this summer. You must have a driver’s license. See Mr. Batson for more information. 3-9

There will be a pep rally today at 2:45. Band members and cheerleaders will need to be dismissed at 2:35. There will be surprises for the most spirit shown during the pep rally.

Seniors: 2 new scholarships are now available:

•Orscheln/4-H Scholarship – $1000 – you must have been a 4-H member at one time and major in an ag-related area. The deadline is April 1st.

•Orscheln/FFA Scholarship – $1000 – you must have been a 4-year member of FFA and major in an ag-related area.

•Access II/Ed Grimes Scholarship – $500 – student must have a documented disablility. April 1st deadline.

•Orscheln/University of Missouri Scholarship – you must rank in the top third of your class and have high rankings in state level ag projects. Deadline is May 1st.

•District Rotary Scholarship, open to all students. One Gallatin senior will be nominated for district competition. The deadline is March 13th.
