The "40 Days of Purpose" study continues at 10 a.m. during the Sunday School hour. We were happy to have the Pattonsburg FFA Chapter as guest at the morning worship service. Puppeteer Alyssa Lambert brought the special, "Amarillo Sky."

Pastor Ron’s sermon was based on Isaiah 43:18-25, II Corinthians 1:18-22 and Mark 2:1-12.
We were happy to have 23 for Sunday School. All ages worshiped in the foyer during ICE Sunday (Interactive Christian Enjoyment). Laurie Roll presented the Sunday School lesson "Promises to Live By."
There were 174 people attending Sunday morning worship service. Bro. Spencer continued his February series of messages on spiritual giving from II Corinthians 8:3, 9:6.
On Friday, March 3, at 7:30 p.m., the Golden Cords from Union College in Lincoln, Neb., will present a free program, "The Hands of Jesus," at the Gallatin Seventh-day Adventist Church, located at 1207 S. Clay St., in Gallatin.

Mary Immaculate will hold its first annual fish fry and raffle between 5-8 p.m. on Friday, March 10, at the Daviess County Country Club in Gallatin.
Jonathan Arnold, 17, Gallatin, a junior at Galaltin R-5 High School, was recently recognized as one of the Distinguished Finalists for 2006 by The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, a nationwide program honoring young people for outstanding acts of volunteerism. The awards program, now in its 11th year, is conducted by Prudential Financial in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).
Helen Marie Wilson, 84, formerly of Jameson, died Friday, Feb. 17, at the Quail Run Health Care Center in Cameron. Services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Visitation was one hour prior to the service. Friends called after 11 a.m. on Monday. Burial was at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Gallatin. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church Building Fund.
Graveside service for Bonnie Baker was held Saturday at the Masonic Cemetery in Jamesport. Arrangements were by McWilliams Funeral Home, Jamesport. Memorials may be made to local Alzheimer, cancer or diabetes foundations.

Graveside service and burial for Frances Hays was held Friday at Maple Hill Cemetery in Kansas City, Kan. Arrangements were by McWilliams Funeral Home, Gallatin. Memorials may be made to the Frances Hays Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Schowengerdt Chapel. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Sid Shippy Criminal Justice Scholarship Fund or American Heart Association.
The North Daviess R-3 Board of Education offered contracts to the high school and elementary principals after returning from an executive session of their regular meeting held Monday, Feb. 13. A 550 hour contract was offered to Julie Kirby to serve as elementary principal for $23,841.50 for the 2006-2007 school year. A contract was offered to Kristi Critten to serve as high school principal for the same amount as her 2005-2006 contract for the 2006-2007 school year. The motion carried with a vote of 5-1.
It has been another very busy year for the Gallatin FFA Chapter. The chapter stayed busy throughout the summer with rodeos, livestock shows, races, camps, and community service events. Once again the chapter helped with Kids Kamp by providing the camp with a petting zoo for the campers’ enjoyment.
A traffic stop on I-35 in Daviess County on Feb. 11 resulted in the arrest of a Brownsville, Texas, man for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, class A felony. Guerrero Homero, 24, allegedly possessed one kilogram of cocaine.
