State Degree applications for FFA members from Area II were reviewed on Feb. 1, 2006. The Gallatin Chapter sent eight applications to the screening.

These applications were for Dillon Bird, Levi Alden, Jessica Fifer, Kate Jarboe, Nic Burrell, Whitney Ray, Clayton Baker and Hattie Rains. All applications were reviewed and accepted. Final state screening was in Jefferson City on Feb. 15. The State FFA degree will be presented on April 21 in Columbia at the State FFA Convention. Area Stars were also chosen in the categories of Farmer Agribusiness and Placement. Two of the three Area II Star candidates chosen were from Gallatin. Hattie Rains was selected as the Area Star in Agribusiness and Jessica Fifer is the Star in Placement. Both young ladies will compete for the honor of State Star at the state convention. Winners will be announced April 20.
