Graveside service and burial for George Elam was held Tuesday, Feb. 14, at the McFall Cemetery. Arrangements were by Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany.

George Emberson Elam, 97, Sierra Vista, formerly of McFall, died Jan. 31, 2006, of heart failure following abdominal surgery in North West Hospital Pima County, Ariz.
Mr. Elam was born Feb. 22, 1908, on the farm in Gentry County, near the town of McFall.
Mr. Elam was preceded in death by Arthur Willis Elam and Audra Alice Wooderson; his brother, Leroy Hallet Elam; and his sister, Frances Louise VanHoutan.
Survivors include a daughter, Grace Elizabeth Elam; one son, John Mack Elam; one stepson, Scott Elam; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous stepgrandchildren.
