According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by officer Craig Wilson of the Gallatin Police Department, it is believed that on Feb. 5, between 2:00 and 2:30 a.m., Velvet C. Johnson assaulted William J. Sites by kicking him and hitting him.
Mrs. Johnson also allegedly drove a 2002 Blazer into the rear of a 1998 Cadillac owned by Mr. Sites, causing damage to the right rear corner of the vehicle. The damage is believed to exceed $750. By her own admission she struck his car with the Blazer.
"She was angry with her boyfriend," said Officer Wilson. "She just wanted him to understand she was mad. That’s the best I can figure out on it." Mrs. Johnson posted $35,000 bond.
