Graveside services for Lue Ella Wackerman were held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Crescent Hill Cemetery in Adrian. Arrangements were by McWilliams Funeral Home, Gallatin. Memorials may be made to the Gallatin Senior Citizen’s Center.
Lue Ella Wackerman, 74, Gallatin, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006, at a Liberty care center.
Mrs. Wackerman was born May 12, 1931, to Jim and Zora (Bray) Wadley in Choctaw, Okla. She was united in marriage to John Wackerman in Miami, Okla. The couple lived in the Kansas City area where Lue Ella owned, operated and also managed several cafes in the area. They relocated to the Hermitage area where she continued in the restaurant profession, retiring in 1994, after over 50 years of service. In 1999, she moved to Gallatin after the death of her husband.
Survivors include one daughter, Bobbie Cabra, Gallatin; one son, Jackie Wackerman, Olathe, Kan.; two sisters, Faye Adams of Lathrop, Mary Steiple of Harrisonville, and Helen Green of McAlester, Okla.; two brothers, James and Jim Wadley of Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
