Northwest Missouri Soybean Growers will want to attend the Annual Soybean Meeting to be held Thursday, Jan. 26 at the Younger Auction Gallery located in Maryville.

Registration will start at 8:30 with the program beginning at 9 a.m. The meeting will focus on the latest research for soybean production and an association update.
"The soybean association focuses on ways to create new uses for soybeans," comments John Kleiboeker, Director of Field Services. He will provide an update on biodiesel, soyfoods, and other soybean value-added projects during the meeting.
Soybean Rust is in the USA and we should be prepared. We have learned a number of things from the southern states this year regarding this disease. Dr. Laura Sweets, University of Missouri Extension Plant Pathologist will provide an update.
Glyphosate use has increased over the years and Dr. Kevin Bradley, UMC Weed Specialists will provide an update on its use on waterhemp and other topics such as fall applied herbicides, and other hot topics.
Insect activity with the soybean aphid has growers concerned what may happen if this insect has the ideal year. Dr. Wayne Bailey, UMC entomologist, will update growers on aphids and various other insects we need to watch for.
Growers continue to scrutinize production practices. Dr. Bill Wiebold, UMC soybean specialists will be discussing a number of topics such as early season beans and other soybean production research.
