County Commission
James Lewis, bridge supervisor, met with the commission reporting that they continue to make tube replacements. He also discussed progress on the equipment repairs.
Bills were audited and paid.
The commission discussed the bids for election equipment. A call from the Secretary of State’s office confirmed that the latest funding amount announced to the public would be available. At the recommendation of the county clerk, David Holcomb moved to accept the bid from Henry M. Adkins and Son, Inc. This bid required fewer machines, a paper ballot that voters are familiar with, additional years of maintenance, and on-site assistance for the first election. Motion carried unanimously.
Craig Smith, Extension Council Specialist, met with the commission regarding the 2006 budget requests. He also reported that he had resigned his position effective Jan. 31, 2006.
Lynn Jarvis, director of A-O-A, met with the commission requesting an extension and collar for a 60-inch culvert on Koala Avenue in Grand River Township. He will provide the labor for installation and the county will provide the metal pipe.
These are the approved minutes of Dec. 19, 2005. All commissioners were present.
