A Kirksville man received moderate injuries as a passenger in a one-vehicle accident at about 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17, on Hwy. 69, according to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol.

Theophilus Obijaju, 26, Kirksville, was southbound on Hwy. 69 about two miles west of Altamont in Daviess County, when the accident occurred. He lost control, slid across the northbound lane and ran off of the left side of the road. His 1995 Toyota struck a utility pole.

Zeresenay Wooday, 24, was taken by Daviess County Ambulance to Cameron Regional Hospital. Both he and the driver were wearing their seat belts.

The Toyota was totaled and towed by Bridgemans of Altamont.

The accident was investigated by Tpr. A. K. Griffin, assisted by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department.

No summons.
