Courtney Warford, Pattonsburg R-2 sixth grader, received honorable mention for her entry in the 2005 Kansas City Royals Holiday Card Designing Contest. She was one of the top six submissions of 2500 entries. Courtney received four tickets to any Royals’ home game in the 2006 season, an autographed baseball and a Royals’ gift package. R-2’s art teacher Sherry Siever had each of her elementary art classes design an entry to be sent to the contest. The students competed against students throughout Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Oklahoma and Arkansas. The winners were announced on Nov. 21.
