Just a short letter to let the public know they don’t need to drive to the plaza in Kansas City to see beautiful Christmas lights. Just go east on Park Street and view Dockery Park here in Gallatin.

A very special “thanks” to Deanna Swalley, chairperson, and David McLey, park board president, and all other volunteers who donated cookies, hot cider, hot chocolate and popcorn and helped serve the refreshments to the large group of people who attended the “open house” and lighting of the Mayor’s Christmas tree. Thanks to the Gallatin band, Santa, nativity scene workers, the animals brought in, tractors and the tractor drivers who took over on rides through the park on such a beautiful night. Also thanks to all the sponsors of decorated trees and those who spent lots of hours down there putting up lights. Thanks for such a success.

If you haven’t driven through our park you have until Jan. 1 to see the hard work of sponsors and the park board members who made Dockery Park as beautiful as the Plaza. Sincerely,

Norma Griffin
