The Dance Company of Gallatin held their annual Christmas charity recital on Dec. 3 and 4. The recital was based around the movie “Polar Express” and featured a production number of 23 students performing tap, jazz, clogging and singing. The Courter Theater in Gallatin was decorated with a train backdrop depicting the North Pole. Round-trip tickets were distributed throughout the audience as they entered the Dancin’ Christmas Express.
The two-day recital featured tap, jazz, clogging, pom-pon, hip-hop and acro-dance.
Special guest singers Michelle Turley, Jonathan Arnold and Nancy Limucha added traditional and Biblical numbers to the charity recital.
Students in ages ranging from two through 17 performed the recital as a gift to local charities. All proceeds from the recital are given to charities and the theater rental. A special invocation was given by a ‘dancer dad’ Kevin Whitt, who is being deployed this week.
Students also held a collection of items to send to the overseas troops.
This year’s recital offered the songs and dances that truly made the audience appreciate the true meaning of Christmas. The Dance Company is owned and operated by Vera Nelson.
