Allen Lunsford receives patriot award from Seabees

UT2 Chris Baxter, EO3 Darin Hagen and EOCS Carl Carder, members of Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 15, presented Allen Lunsford with the Patriot Award. The award was given in appreciation of Allen’s support to the Seabees throughout the years. He has donated lumber and the hardware to the Bees so Carl could construct picnic tables and Adirondack chairs to raffle and raise money for the Seabee Ball. This year’s ball had special meaning because NMCB 15 hosted it, and for the first time in two years all of the battalion was home. NMCB 15 has had 230 Seabees activated in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Allen and Carl have been donating their time, talents and materials for over 10 years. They have not only done this for the reserve unit, but for proms, sororities and the Men’s Club. Their efforts have contributed to many community projects. [Submitted Photo]
