Russell Kenneth Uthe, 74, Winston passed away on November 21, 2005.

Russell was born on May 25, 1931, south of Altamont, Missouri to William and Ida (Strong) Uthe.

He attended school at Altamont where he graduated from the 8th grade. Russell transferred to Winston High School where he graduated in May of 1949. On August 10, 1950, Russell was united in marriage to JoAnn Weese in Cameron, Mo. To this union three children were born. Kenneth Eugene in 1951, who preceded him in death in 1970, Norma Joann in 1954 and Valerie Sue in 1968.

Russell farmed for Helen Blackburn at Mabel, Mo. He was employed in Kansas City, Mo. at an egg drying factory and Bendix. In 1955, he started working for Beckett Gas Co., Cameron, Mo. For several years he was self-employed in the Heating and Air Conditioning business. He was unable to continue with this when he had a heart attack in 1989. In 1990, he went to work for Wal-Mart in Cameron. He retired in March of 2005 after 15 years with Wal-Mart.

Russell was a member of the United Methodist Church, Winston; a member of the Western Star A.F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge #15 of Winston; a former member of the Lions Club and the Winston Historical Society.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Ida; brother, Glen; sister, Velma and son, Kenneth.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Norma and Ron Eckerson, Maryville, Mo and Valerie and Vernon Parman, Winston, Mo., grandchildren, Jacki and Larry Wood, Springfield, Mo, Christy and Jeff Soda, Omaha, Neb., Amy and Will Anderson, Mesa, Ariz., Ryan Ekerson and Kristina Spire, Warrensburg, Mo., Samantha Parman and Carl Parman, Winston, Mo.; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Hannah Wood, Springfield, Mo. and Jaden Soda, Omaha, Neb., many other relatives and a host of friends.

Services will be held at the Winston United Methodist Church on Saturday, November 26, 2005 at 1:30 p.m.. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:30-8 p.m. at Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron, Mo. Burial will be in Cameron Memory Gardens. Memorials may be given to the Winston United Methodist Church and/or Western Star A.F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge #15, Winston, Mo.
