The Gallatin FFA Chapter traveled to Louisville, Ken., Oct. 25-29 to attend the National FFA Convention. Our group was among over 50,000 FFA members in attendance at this year’s convention.
While in Louisville the Gallatin Chapter received its 10th National Chapter award in a row. This honor recognizes our chapter as one of the top two percent of FFA Chapters in the nation. Chapter president Hattie Rains and Vice President Katie Jarboe received the award for the chapter at the ninth general session of the convention.
The Gallatin FFA Chapter toured the St. Louis Arch, Louisville Slugger, and Montgomery Farms. In addition, members served in the National FFA Courtesy Corps.
The chapter listened to the National FFA band which included four members from Gallatin. Those members were Whitney Ray, Jonathan Arnold, Lacy Edwards, and Kaley Sheldon. Gallatin had more members in the band than any other chapter in the nation.
Erin Croy was introduced on stage as a national finalist in Swine Production. She was Gallatin’s first ever national finalist in any area. Erin received runner up honors and was also named the winner of the Supervised Agricultural Experience trip to Costa Rica in June.
Gallatin also had four members receive the American FFA Degree. They were Mitch Riley, Michelle Chadwick, Justin Harlow, and Danny Clevenger.
