A motion was made to appoint Lonnie Luke for the position to fill in until the next election in April.
The Pattonsburg Board of Aldermen discussed who to appoint to the vacant eastward position at city hall during their regular meeting held on Wednesday, Nov. 9. The position was left open when Barbara Goodsen resigned earlier this fall for personal reasons.
A motion was made to appoint Lonnie Luke for the position to fill in until the next election in April. Mr. Luke has accepted the position and will be sworn in during December’s meeting of the council.
The city’s grader won’t keep a charge and Gary Wynne wanted to know if the city wanted to get the generator rebuilt. The board voted to take it to Bills Electric in Savannah to be rebuilt and see about an adjustable regulator.
Shafer Kline and Warren requested partial payment for the work they have done on the survey and platting that the city agreed to. The board agreed to pay them the $1,704.81 that they requested.
The Tree Climbers approached the council, asking their input on renting one of the buildings from the IDA Board. The council discussed the matter with them, and mentioned that there might have been a misunderstanding between the two parties and moved to turn it back over to the IDA Board, but didn’t see why an arrangement couldn’t be made between the two.
Bills were paid as presented.
The council discussed continuing with the employee incentive as they have done in the past years. A motion was made to continue, with the stipulation that employees must be employed by the city by Dec. 1 of this year.
The board voted to change the park’s checking account to a non-interest bearing account to avoid the cycle service charge.
Membership with Missouri Rural Service Workers Compensation Insurance Trust was renewed and the board agreed to pay the $150 membership fee for the year.
The board moved to not have a fall clean-up this year.
The council was informed by Angie Jones that Norfolk Southern Railway wants the city to pay a higher fee than in the past. The matter was tabled until Mrs. Jones can find out for sure what section the railway is talking about.
The clerks at city hall asked for the purchase of two new computer desks as the old ones are giving way under the weight. The board agreed to allow $750 to purchase two desks for the city hall.
The Pattonsburg Board of Aldermen met at 7 p.m. at city hall on Wednesday, Nov. 9. Those in attendance were as follows: Leonard Barr, Gene Walker, Angie Jones, Mark Smith, Dwight Schell, Ed Meador and Dana Cameron. Ed Howard and Fran Albert were present on behalf of the Tree Climbers Club.
