Funeral services for Rilla Carder were held Monday at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Inurnment will be at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery, near Gallatin.

Mary (Rilla) Carder, 78, died Nov. 4, 2005, at her home in Gallatin.

Mrs. Carder was born Feb. 28, 1927, to Alfred and Nellie Elizabeth (Baker) Creekmore in Gallatin.

She was united in marriage on Oct. 26, 1944, to Everett Abe Carder in Marysville, Kan. He died on Feb. 13, 1986.

The couple made their home in Gallatin, where they raised their family and were life-long residents. Mrs. Carder was employed at the Lambert Manufacturing Co. from 1963 until the plant shut down in 2002. She retired after 39 years of faithful employment.

Mrs. Carder was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Ronald, in 1961, a daughter, Wanda, in 1997, a granddaughter, Angela, in 1978, two brothers, George and Junior Creekmore, and a sister, Bernice Creekmore.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne Carder, Gallatin, and Steven Carder, Sacramento, Calif.; two daughters, Sharron Russell, Gallatin, and Cathy Jo Allen, rural Daviess County; three sisters, Nellie Waterbury, Jameson, Evelyn Fletcher and Ruby Teel, both of Gallatin; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
