Pete Gardner was present on behalf of the Park Board at the regular meeting of the Pattonsburg Board of Aldermen held Sept. 14 at city hall. Buck Gardner informed the city that he and Tommie Lowery had talked to Mike Ford about finishing up on the bleachers at the park. Mr. Ford had informed them that it would be the last week in September before he could continue the work.
The Park Board was going to get with Mr. Ford to see what projects the money on hand would cover, and the park board would decide from there what projects would be completed first. The Park Board was wondering how many people need to be on its board now that the grant is complete. The Park Board would also like to look into the price of different signs to be put around the park.
Bills were paid as presented.
Doris Baker with Sigrist & Associates attended the meeting to go over the city’s compilation report and to answer any questions. Sigrist & Associates had several ideas on how the city can make record keeping easier for future accountants and the city itself. The board motioned to accept the compilation report and to pay the $1,500 for the accountant’s fee.
Gene Walker motioned to send a letter to Cameron Community Hospital (now known as Cameron Regional Medical Center) for termination of their lease in old town.
The board went into executive session.
After returning form executive session Barbara Streich Goodson presented the board with her resignation from the city council. Her resignation was tentatively accepted, provided the board can find a good replacement for her position. Until then, the board will place her back on the board and discuss this matter at the next meeting.
The Pattonsburg Board of Aldermen met on Sept. 14 at city hall. Those in attendance were Mayor Mark Smith, Barbara Streich Goodson, Gene Walker, Leonard Bar, Angela Jones, Eddy Meador, Dana Cameron, Fran Albert, Brenda West, Pete Gardner, Ronald (Flap) Gardner, Leslie (Buck) Gardner and Doris Baker.
