The Pattonsburg R-2 Board of Education selected Freedom Select/Principle Insurance as the school’s health insurance provider for employees during their regular September meeting.

The audit report furnished by Westbrook Auditing Firm was reviewed and approved.

Policies pertaining to workmen’s compensation were reviewed and approved.

Elementary Principal Mrs. Rucker reported an enrollment of 81 in kindergarten through sixth grade; and 10 in preschool, with a 97% attendance rate for August.

High School Principal Mrs. Gannon reported an enrollment of 88 in 7-12 grades with a 96% attendance rate for August.

Mrs. Rucker gave the special education annual program evaluation.

The calendar of events was approved.

After returning from executive session to hear updates on legal matters, the board signed the city/park agreement.

Adjustments were made to the extra duty schedule for 2005-2006.

School finances were discussed.

The electricity rate and costs for the school district was discussed.

Mrs. Gannon presented changes in the safety handbook, which the board approved.

The regular meeting time for the board was changed to 8 p.m. Next regular meeting was set for Oct. 19.

Board members present were Craig Lambert, Patty Hartley, Gene Thatcher, Ben deJong, Lincoln Cornett, Cindy Mason, Tammy deJong, Melanie Rucker, Chris Gannon and Wendell Burns.
